Forest Row Bike Club

I just thought I would let you all know that the 'Meanderers' are still alive and kicking! The three of us, Jeanita, Heather and Valerie, think of ourselves as the Intrepid Trio, but we are more than happy to be joined on our simple excursions by anyone wishing to go on a shorter ride starting at 10am each Sunday morning (unless it is absolutely pouring down with rain, of course)!

Just to give you an idea of our itineraries over the last several Sundays we have been to Tunbridge Wells (whilst the Main Bunch were disporting themselves in Lewes swimming pool), to Snowhill (picked loads of blackberries on the way back), across the Forest to Duddleswell Garden Centre (excellent tea cakes), to Anita's Tea Rooms just beyond Eridge (what style), then an extremely wet ride to Groombridge and back, a trip to the Llama Farm, and a ride along to Three Bridges (struggling bravely to keep up with the Main Bunch) culminating with coffee and cakes at Tulleys Farm (just to maintain the calorific balance). We have also treated ourselves to our very own Awayday, driving down to the Loom Mill on the Cuckoo Trail - a good excuse to both start and finish our ride with refreshments.

So if anyone out there would like to join with us in our Meanders, looking over hedges, admiring the views, chatting with passersby, lingering over our halfway stop, maybe inspecting the plants in a Garden Centre, or window shopping in Tunbridge Wells, then please just turn up outside Future Cycles by 10 o'clock on nearly every Sunday, or ring Valerie on 01342 823259. We also have some half-formed plans for future Awaydays, or even Awayweekends, and - who knows - we may even get fit enough to take part in a French trip next year!
