Forest Row Bike Club
Welcome to the website of Forest Row's only club devoted to the noble art of cycling. For those who don't know, Forest Row is in the north-west corner of East Sussex, about 3 miles south-east of East Grinstead. Which is in West Sussex. But let's not complicate matters any further.
We're a diverse group, with a wide mix of ages, abilities and hair-styles. What unites us is the enjoyment of cycling, fresh air and tea, and the hatred of steep hills. Of which there are a few.
We meet on Sundays at 9:30 and on Wednesdays at 9:00 in the Lower Square in Forest Row (by Java and Jazz) and new faces are always welcome.
There are usually two groups on Sundays a short ride of around 30 miles, and a longer ride of 40 - 50 miles. Refer to the Rides Schedule for a list of future rides and links to maps of them, but please note that the short ride details are often not included until a couple of days before the ride. We try to vary route, keep to country lanes and established cycle tracks as far possible The emphasis is on a social day out, at a pace that is comfortable for all participants .
In addition the 'Meanderers' meet at 10:00am and takes things a little easier, and settle for fewer miles at a genteel pace.
Wednesday rides are less structured, there is no schedule, the rides are usually 40+ miles but destination usually gets decided on the day dependant on weather participants and how the leader feels. If you are interested in riding on a particular Wednesday and wish to be sure there is a ride ring Graham on 01342 311936 or email the email@example.com
To get some idea of our activities, take a look at our photo album - contributions are always welcome.
And, if you don't think just cycling is enough for you, why not take part in our Caption Competition - prizes abound!
